About this event

Palacio del Marqués de Dos Aguas.  The Palacio del Marqués de Dos Aguas is widely considered the finest example of Rococo architecture in Spain. This 18th-century palace serves as the National Museum of Ceramics and Sumptuary Arts "González Martí." The building is famous for its incredible alabaster façade, which depicts the two major rivers of Valencia—the Turia and the Júcar—flowing from pitchers held by giants.

The Experience
Visitors can explore the opulent private quarters of the Marquis, which remain decorated with original 19th-century furnishings, grand ballrooms, and a stunning throne room. The museum also houses a world-class collection of ceramics ranging from prehistoric times to contemporary pieces by artists like Picasso, along with a collection of historic 18th-century carriages located in the interior courtyard.

Key Highlights

  • The Alabaster Portal: A masterpiece of Baroque carving by Ignacio Vergara.
  • The Ballroom: A gold-leafed hall reflecting the height of Valencian nobility.
  • Ceramics Collection: Featuring the famous "Manises" lusterware and traditional Valencian kitchen tiles.
  • The Carriage of the Nymphs: A spectacular 18th-century gilded carriage on display in the courtyard.
