Valencia Greeters: Free Walk with a Local

Experience Valencia through the eyes of a resident with Valencia Greeters. Part of the International Greeter Network, this is not a traditional history tour but a friendly, informal walk designed to show you the city’s hidden corners and local lifestyle.

What You’ll Do

  • A Personal Connection: Meet a local volunteer (a "Greeter") who shares their personal passion for the city, its culture, and its neighborhoods.
  • Off the Beaten Path: Discover "secret" spots, local hangouts, and stories that you won't find in standard guidebooks.
  • Customised Experience: Walks are informal and flexible, focusing on what interests you—whether it's street art, local markets, or quiet residential squares.
  • Insider Tips: Get authentic recommendations on where to eat, shop, and explore during the rest of your stay.

Event Details

  • Cost: Completely free. This is a volunteer-led community initiative; Greeters do not accept tips.
  • Duration: Usually 2 to 3 hours.
  • Group Size: Small and intimate (often just 1 to 6 people).
  • Booking: You must request your "GREET" in advance via the official Valencia Greeters website to be matched with a local.

Travel: How to Get There

  • Meeting Point: Your Greeter will typically coordinate a convenient meeting spot with you, often a central landmark like Torres de Serranos or Plaza de la Virgen.
  • By Metro: Central meeting points are best reached via Xàtiva, Colón, or Pont de Fusta.
  • By Bus: Numerous lines serve the city center; look for stops at Plaça de la Reina or Guillem de Castro.
