About this event
šØ Exhibition: Sorolla. Masterpieces from the Sorolla Museum
A Homecoming of 60 Masterpieces in Valencia
For the first time, the Bancaja Foundation brings together 60 legendary works by JoaquĆn Sorolla in his hometown. This rare event is made possible by the temporary closure of the Sorolla Museum in Madrid, allowing a collection that seldom travels to return to the Mediterranean light that inspired it.
The Experience:
- Iconic Masterpieces: Stand before world-famous canvases including Walk on the Beach, The Horseās Bath, and La Siesta.
- A Unique Dialogue: See these travelling works alongside the Foundationās own Sad Inheritance!, the masterpiece that won Sorolla the Grand Prix at the 1900 Paris Universal Exhibition.
- The Artistās Journey: Follow a complete chronological path from his early days in Valencia and Italy to his mastery of portraiture and his final paintings in Mallorca.
- Hidden Gems: Discover rarely seen pieces and "exhibition firsts" that have never been displayed to the public before.
Tickets for this exhibition can be purchased in person at the box office located at PlaƧa de TetuƔn, 23
