Tufting Workshop: Make Your Own Rug

At EP Custom Rug, the tufting workshop located in the La Saïdia neighborhood, creativity and good vibes are the rule.

Here, it’s all about weaving connections between people, relaxing, chatting, and enjoying the moment—whether you’re a tourist or a local.

You’ll start with a brief introduction on how to use the mechanical tufting gun, and then dive into a large, colorful space filled with materials: 33 designs and 51 different yarn colors, including some fluorescent ones.

Behind the project are Emily and Pierre, a Belgian couple who fell in love with Valencia and decided to stay to share this addictive craft.

They lead the workshops themselves, available in Spanish, English, and French, and there are several types depending on your time and interest.

Types of creative workshops

• The introductory workshop lasts about two and a half hours—perfect for your first encounter with tufting.
• The finishing session goes a step further, teaching you how to apply your creations to other objects like cushions, tote bags, or stools.
  (Tufting isn’t just for rugs!)
• The complete workshop is the most immersive experience—you design, choose colors, finish your piece, and take it home ready to use.

All activities are set to soft background music, with snacks and unlimited drinks provided.

And the best part? No experience needed—just curiosity, creativity, and the desire to have fun.
