Albufera Bike Adventure: Nature, Culture & Horchata Tasting
Discover the true "Green Heart" of Valencia on this 4-hour guided cycling expedition. Leaving the city behind, we journey from the historic Ciutat Vella and the futuristic City of Arts and Sciences into the wild, serene landscapes of the Albufera Natural Park.
This is more than just a bike ride—it’s an immersion into the unique ecosystems, Mediterranean forests, and culinary traditions that define the Valencian soul.
🚲 The Experience
- The Route: Glide through the lush Turia Gardens and past Calatrava’s architectural masterpieces before hitting the coastal trails.
- Wild Landscapes: Cycle through traditional orchards, coastal dunes, and Mediterranean pine forests. We’ll stop at the Puzol Lake, a hidden birdwatching paradise.
- The Tasting: Reach the iconic Albufera pier for a traditional treat. We’ll sample fresh Horchata—Valencia’s famous tiger nut drink—paired with Fartons, the sweet, fluffy pastries designed for dipping.
- Golden Hour Vibes: Capture spectacular photos of the rice fields and mirror-like lagoons as we head back toward the city.

- Stopovers: Includes a 10-minute break for refreshments and facilities.
- Bikes: You will need a bicycle! You can bring your own or rent one at the meeting point:
- Regular Bike: €10
- Electric Bike: €30
How much does it cost? At the end, each person contributes to the guide the amount they consider fair based on their satisfaction. As a guideline, recommend between €15 and $50 per participant.

Albufera Bike Tour Itinerary

Meeting Point & Departure
We begin at our city centre meeting point to collect bikes and head into the lush Turia Gardens, the "green lung" of Valencia.
1. City of Arts and Sciences (Outside Visit)
Our first major landmark. We’ll ride through this futuristic complex to admire the monumental buildings inspired by nature before leaving the city behind.
2. Pinedo Beach (Outside Visit)
We cross into the traditional Valencian orchards and reach the coast. Here, we enjoy the open Mediterranean views as we head toward the heart of the Natural Park.
3. El Saler Village
A transition point where the landscape shifts into a dense Mediterranean forest. We’ll ride through this peaceful area, surrounded by pine trees and local flora.
4. Saler Beach (Outside Visit)
We continue along the coastal path, crossing the protected dunes. During this stretch, we’ll take a short 10-minute break for refreshments and restrooms.
5. Pujol Lake (Outside Visit)
We stop at this serene "small lake," a unique ecosystem within the park that is home to various species of migratory birds. This is a perfect spot for spectacular nature photos.
6. Albufera Pier & Tasting
Our final destination. At the historic pier, we’ll enjoy a tasting of fresh Horchata and Fartons. You'll learn about the Chufa (tiger nut) and the history of the lake before we begin our return trip.
